    sudden loss

"...Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

    Maria Rilke

Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live.

    Henry Van Dyke

Because I could not stop for Death,
    He kindly stopped for me.
The Carriage held but just ourselves
    And Immortality
    Emily Dickinson

For what is it to die,
But to stand in the sun and melt into the wind?

    Kahlil Gibran, from "The Prophet"

    Death

DEATH, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so:
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow
Die not, poor Death; nor yet canst thou kill me.
From Rest and Sleep, which but thy picture be,
    Much pleasure, then from thee much more must flow;
And soonest our best men with thee do go--
Rest of their bones and souls' delivery!
Thou'rt slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,
    And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell;
And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well
And better than thy stroke. Why swell'st thou then?
One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And Death shall be no more: Death, thou shalt die!

    John Donne

Folk, the above is a reflection on the death of one of our student's on Wednesday night. Bradley went to sleep not knowing that he would

pass on to another world. Our beautiful fourteen year old attended

    Parent Teacher

evening with his doting Mum. He had just got the final permission to walk

the music teacher's chlidren up to Primary every morning. We will miss

your gentlemanly courtises that left us with the Front door

    opened for us every morning.

And for some of us , we were greeted in the carpark by the roguish

    young charm.

"Lollies Ms" with his hand out and everready, was our young man's

    running line.

He loved lollies and loved to give and take. We will miss

    you oh sweet one...life

is too short, we know but we were blessed to have

    had you in our lives

over the past two and half years.

Your  wandering friends and aching Mum and family, we will take care of

    and

a smile will always remind me of you...xox

Am sure you are in lollie paradisioRight hugRed rose

    life as it is...

Living in the fast lane and at the same time finding time to lapse out of this incessant flow of living. Taking time to indulge in light fun filled moments is high on the priority list.
Meanwhile have flipped from Professional Development Day to the business that is normal school day mayhem. Had the Year Nine Testing Forum and P & F thrown in for good meausrement on Wednesday night. Fitted in a visit to the hairdresser, physio, naturopath, lawyer and Spiritual Director also in the week that was.
Next week brings Staff Meeting after work on Mon, son's Parent Teacher Evening on Tuesday. Parent Teacher night at our place on Wed. Out at moderation of Senior work on Thursday. Off for Anzac Day on Friday. Thank heavens that I call Aus homeSmileRed rose
"This day of days again we keep -
In memory of those who sleep
    Away beyond the quiet sea.....
    Away in far Gallipolli.

'Tis Anzac Day - 'tis Anzac Day..
    Our soldier comrades far away,
They died in war  -  that we in peace
May live and love that war may cease".

    HOLIDAY MAGIC

morning coffee at the river frontcosmos the prized and most gentle stallionboys soaking up Captain Cooks view at town of 1770kookaburra taking in the noises of the oceanocean on sunset as we hike back home

    Holidaying in the country
Returned in lesiurely mode from three amazing days in the country, this afternoon. A five hour drive on Sunday afternoon/evening had us making the dreaded detour, within the first hour of the trip. So was forced to take in the amazing sights of the Glasshouse Mountains along the newly named route, the Steve Irwin Way.  Yes, Australia Zoo seems more global than ever.

Making it to road blocks which were just put in place added a tinge of resourcefulness to the trip from the start.

Meanwhile, dusk greeted us with pockets of downpours of rain mingled with blinding rays of sunshine.  Whilst stopping to indulge at the Howard Matilda Highway Truckies Cafe for dinner I decided had enough of So fresh latest hits. For the next hour kids would be overcome with songs of Protest whilst their doting Mum would aim to be widely alert. The fear of having a local Skippy - kangaroo - bouncing across the Highway to the next paddock, did send shrills along the fingers. As did the Big Foot bush stories that raced through the imagination. That idea would soon get furled back to the sugar cane and gum tree surroundings that provided that outback feel to the occasion.  Intervails and trails of truckies heading North for start of week trading made sure that all eyes were  to be fixated on the Bruce Highway, after dark.

Our stay on the farm would be sprinkled with early morning calls from the family rooster, guinea fowl and prized Palamino stallion in the front paddock. Our day at the beach in town of 1770 and Agnes Water would mean alot of fun reminiscing from the two amigos. It was at these spots, ten years ago, that we would both declare our decision to leave our long standing partners for higher and mightier sights.

Now, we both boast of a new found sense of identity of which we would have never claimed, if we were to choose the path of least resistance. And another toast to the fact that, wild women we remain at heartSecret telling.

Watching Amazing Grace into the early hours on the plasma screen served as the cherry on the sweet desert that is our friendship. Our children comfortably and spontaneously calling each of us Aunty just gelled the whole family holiday beautifully. They had obviously cast aside the roasting that they got in the beach cafe, earlier. Our darling sons had taken themselves off to the City Beach shop across the main highway whilst we juggled eight little darlings under eleven. Ten minutes later the European style latte, seved by a local Aussie surfie, soothed all aches of the moment. Not to mention the relief that the breathtaking climb that the boys and tomboys and I would undertake at the spot where Captain Cook and Joseph Banks set sights on in 1770.

Travelling North, inspite of the five hour drive, instills family and friendship moments to cherish even more than ever.
