    REASONS, SEASONS AND LIFETIMES

     reasons, seasons and lifetimes
Even when we’re not feeling particularly abundant, we can more easily see how much we have to be thankful for if we can look at our lives through the eyes of gratitude. Once we learn to recognize what gives us the feeling of abundance, we have the keys to create more of it. Envisioning what we’d like to create is like placing an order with the universe, and like companies who deliver, the universe handles all the details.

    ..........
    img266/425/womaninveiljb5.jpg

    ..........

People come into your life for a REASON, a SEASON or a LIFETIME. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season .

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

The above arrived to me today and "Wow, what a godsend!" Am taking time out to saturate myself in the nurturing forces of the universe. I need it sooo much. Am a giver in so many ways and now I need to bathe in beauty so that I can have fuel for a hectic journey ahead. And yep I will be working on the reasons, seasons and friendships repetoire that figure so prominently in the canvas of an Irish Lioness. Hmmm. A-more et amor!!! I know you will be part of that saturation feast for me.

    AUSTRALIAN CREATION MYTH

TODAY IS AUSTRALIA DAY...WHITE AUSTRALIA DAY THAT IS

TO  OUR INDIGENOUS SISTERS AND BROTHERS I SAY THANK YOU FOR:

    ACCEPTANCE

    TOLERANCE

    FORGIVENESS

    PATIENCE

    AND

    TRADITION/CULTURE

    >>>>

    An Australian Creation Myth

In the beginning, God created day and night.

He created day for footy matches, going to the beach, and barbies.

He created night for going prawning, sleeping, and barbies.

God saw that it was good.

Evening came and morning came.  The first day.

On the second day, He created water -

for surfing, swimming, and beach barbies.

God saw that it was good.

Evening came and morning came.  The second day.

On the third day, God created the earth to bear plants -

to provide tobacco, malt, yeast, and coal for barbies.

He saw that it was good.

Evening came and morning came.  The third  day.

On the fourth day, God created animals –

for chops, sausages, and steak for barbies.

He saw that it was good.

Evening came and morning came.  The fourth day.

On the fifth day, he created Bruce –

to go to the footy, enjoy the beach, drink the beer, and eat the meat at barbies.

God saw that it was good.

Evening came and morning came.  The fifth day.

On the sixth day, God saw that Bruce was lonely.

He needed someone with whom to go to the footy, surf, drink beer,

    and stand around the barbie.

    So God created mates

And He saw that they were good blokes.

Evening came and morning came.  The sixth day.

On the seventh day, God saw that Bruce was tired and needed to rest.

    So he created . . . Doreen

to clean the house, bear children, to wash, to cook, and to clean the barbie.

Evening came and morning came.  The seventh day.

And God saw that it was AUSTRALIA!

    The ship of our life

     Launching that ship
    img221/1254/truefriends2yo.gif

When we remember that we co-create our world with the universe, we begin to steer the ship of our life rather than leaving it to the whim of the winds and the tide. Of course, we must work with the current, but we can harness nature’s flow to take us along our chosen path more quickly and effortlessly. Every goal must begin within us and then be nourished by heart, mind, and spirit before it can be manifested in the material world. We can take the first step on the journey of building our dreams today when we let our adventurous spirit lead the way.

    I'M ALIVE

      Are you styled or stylish!

Celine Dion - I'm Alive Lyrics

I get wings to fly... Oh-oh

    I'm alive... yeah.. yeah

    When you call for me

    When I hear you breath

    I get wings to fly...

    I feel that I'm alive

    When you look at me

    I can touch the sky

    I know that

    I'm alive

    Ohh... Ooh.... alive

    When you blessed the day

    I just drift away

    All my world is right

    I'm glad that I'm alive

You set my heart on fire

    Filled me with love

    Made me a woman

    I'm glad you're back

    I couldn't get much higher

    My spirit takes flight

    (My spirit takes flight)

    Because I'm alive

    (Because I'm alive)

    Ooh...never bound

    (When you call on me)

    When you call on me

    (When I hear you breathe)

    When I hear you breathe

    (I get wings to fly...)

    I feel that I'm alive

    Oh yeah, I'm alive.

    (When you reach for me)

    When you reach for me

    (Erases fear inside)

    Loves knows that

That I'll be the one standing by

Through good and through trying times

    And it's only begun

I can't wait for the rest of my life

    (When you call for me)

    When you call on me

    (When you reach for me)

    When you reach for me

    (I get wings to fly...)

    Ah-ah...

    (I feel that...)

    (When you blessed the day)

When you blessed, you blessed the day

    (I just drift away)

    I just drift away

    (All my world is dark)

    I know that... I'm alive

    Yeah...

    I get wings to fly

    God knows that I'm alive...

Am in here hiding from prep for return to work after an enormous and fun filled six week holiday. Why do they have to bless/burden us with such long holidays! Oh, am led to ask after a fantastic revival of fun loving energy and mischief again. Blogging of course only enhances that playful and rat-a-tat attitude. So will leave you with some seriously enlightening reflections on one of my favourite topics: fashion.

Yes folks, one can be beautiful or rich, or famous, even all three, but still style-less! Woo-hoo, it is Paris. Paris Hilton steps out in Sydney in virginal platforms, vast sunglasses, shiny-shiny holdall, bikini top, shorts glued to her pubic bone, the invincible belly button winking at the cam. Envious, of course, a lil, but not for long. Style or trash!!! Can't trash be stylish? What is the difference between styled and stylish???

Ahh, fashion cannot be confused with style. Style involves 'manners of the heart,' according to Oleg Cassini, the man who wardrobed Jackie Onassis. Ehhh, those pillbox hats. People with true style are incredibly quietly mannered and courteous to all people. Just think, 'Would Cary Grant wear this?' If not, guys, just dump that Lowes shirt on the spot! Your style must be a projection of who you are to all others, not just at the local tart bar.

    1. Style gives one identity
    2. Style anchors one in a shifting world: an inner stillness and depth radiates
    3. Style is authentic
    4. Style is a reflection of one's real state of bliss/happiness
    5. Style is what you have when others yearn to be you
    6. Style has eternal beauty
    7. Style has eternal impact
    8. Style enables one to thread graciously
    9. Style is the ability to be yourself, to know, in fact, that you cannot be otherwise
    10. Style is a visual gift. Op shoppers, you have the knack to find the one piece in the midst of all of that dross. MsGuided, you already qualify here, luv.
    11. Style reflects a rich and intricate interior (Hepburn always seemed so playfully tender and seriously sweet)
    12. Style smiles. When Hepburn smiles, I always want to smile back. Is that just me!!! OOps, hope not
    13. Style reflects manners (Cary Grant-always seemed concerned about other people. Robbie Williams, where art thou, in these stakes!)
    14. Style sticks with one to the end (Marie Antoinette even took it with her to the guillotine)

Will wrap this  very important piece of sweat drenching reflection up with a piece from one of my favourite Hepburn movies Roman Holiday.

Princess Ann: I hate this nightgown. I hate all my nightgowns, and I hate all my underwear too.
Countess: My dear, you have lovely things.
Princess Ann: But I'm not two hundred years old. Why can't I sleep in pajamas?
    Countess: Pajamas?
Princess Ann: Just the top part. Did you know that there are people who sleep with absolutely nothing on at all?
Countess: I rejoice to say I do not.
Princess Ann: Do you have a silk nightgown with rosebuds?
Joe Bradley: I haven't worn a nightgown in years!

So folks do you fit any of the above wardrobes!!! Time to go shooppinngg again. Wish  knew all this before the sales. Whether you are a diva or a deo have fun and adore d stylezz in all you are. Here's to individuality. Muhwaaahh

    FREEDOM OF LOVING

    I Love You.....

But I Do Not Presume To Know You,

    Your Secret Self,

    Is A Beautiful Mystery,

    Upon Which My Heart,

     Will Never Intrude

    img252/6677/mumbaibd6.jpg

"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments,

but what is woven into the lives of others."

    Pericules

     something to think about...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.

You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.

So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will
    never begin.

    HANGING FOR DEFENDING ONESELF

    FRIGHTENING PLIGHT OF IRANIAN GIRL

Dec 23 :  Nearing her retrial, Nazanin is scared

As we are nearing Nazanin Fatehi's retrial, Nazanin is very scared and cries a lot in her prison cell. She said "I am innocent, I am tired of being here, I want to come out and see my mother, see my family". Nazanin said that her inmates calm her down and tell her that she does not have anything to worry about because her case has received worldwide attention. This brings some comfort to Nazanin but naturally this young woman fears for her life.

Dec 17 :  One Million signatures demanding changes to discriminatory laws

Nazanin is a victim of the embedded discrimanatory laws that exist under Sharia Law in Iran.

Iranian women’s rights activists have initiated a campaign demanding an end to legal discrimination against women in Iranian law. It is called “One Million Signatures Demanding Changes to Discriminatory Laws". Please help support their campaign, click on the follwing link and scroll to the bottom of the page to sign the petition

Below, is an extract from a diary entry from a non Iranian Muslim woman's diary. I will not change it as she expresses it so well.

'Ok...for a second lets skip all Law, and look at the incident in question. Young girl, walking to the store for her mother who is sick. Her father has been sick for years. Her fifteen year old mentally ill cousing  are attacked by men who have all intentions on raping them.

Girl fights back, and stabs guy trying to get away, and runs to police department for help. (she has already reported being raped a few years ago but nothing was done). Police lock the girl up and pursues guy, who later dies in hospital from the wound. Girl is tortured and beaten while incarcerated for several days?? After she is attacked by some thug?? And now is incarcerated and waiting because she has been given the death penalty, because the guy died. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE JUSTICE IS HERE?

In Islam if you are attacked by the enemy you are supposed to fight back, and protect yourself. ***And if you are Allah's creation, and someone is going to hurt you, they are an enemy of Allah...right or wrong?*** And if you dont fight back, and it happens, and there ARE NOT 4 MALE WITNESSES to say that you are innocent then you can be punished severely anyway.( SHARIAH LAW) Because then it falls on accountability to what happened, and your word. Many women never report it, for this exact reason. And I have heard it said women are the bringers of this kind of thing. Maybe they look at someone wrong, walking where you shouldn't have been..etc.. BUT WHAT IF YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG? WHAT IF YOU WE'RE ONLY IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME? What happens to MAN's accountability to their Morals? Who taught a Man it was ok to treat women like this anyway?

Why do women have to fight for rights just to be respected and cared for? And loved and nurtured, and kept safe?

So why are young men trolling neighborhoods looking to rape women? And where are their fathers, and uncles, and the male figures in their lives, that should be teaching them how to treat women the right way? And learn how to control themselves as Men and not act like animals?

SINCE WHEN IS A WALK TO THE STORE FOR GROCERY'S FOR YOUR FAMILY A REASON FOR SOMEONE TO ATTACK AND RAPE YOU?

THIS GIRL IS INNOCENT, SHE WAS PROTECTING HERSELF. AND FOR HER TO BE GIVEN THE DEATH PENALTY IS NOT RIGHT!!! I WILL SPEAK OUT IN HER DEFENSE ALSO. PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING, SIGN HER PETITION! I'M POSTING THE LINK HERE, YOU CAN VIEW HER STORY, SCROLL DOWN AND VIEW THE CLIPS. THE VERY FIRST CLIP THAT SAYS," DOCUMENTRY UP FOR MYSPACE" WILL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT. AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE WHERE IT SAYS WHAT YOU CAN DO, YOU CAN SIGN HER PETITION.*** AS A MAN, SAY THIS IS NOT RIGHT,*** A SISTER SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROTECT HERSELF IN TROUBLE.*** AND AS A WOMEN YOU KNOW HOW CLOSE IT IS TO YOUR SOUL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU.*** AND IF YOU LIVE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, YOU KNOW AS A WOMAN TO BE IN THIS SITUATION, IS VERY GRIMM. BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.*** STAND UP FOR WHAT'S RIGHT...PLEASE!!!!!! ALLAH WILL REWARD YOU FOR WHATS RIGHT...'

Jan 14 : FANTASTIC NEWS: NAZANIN EXONERATED BUT...

Nazanin Afshin-Jam and Mina Ahadi spoke with Nazanin Fatehi's lawyers today regarding her retrial that took place on January 10th 2007.

They have received verbal confirmation from the court that she will be exonerated from the charge of murder. The incident that took place in March 2005 has been recognized as an act of self-defense, however the court has ruled that disproportionate force was used by Nazanin while trying to defend herself and her 15-year old niece. Accordingly, they have asked Nazanin to pay “dieh” (blood money) to receive a pardon from the family of the deceased. Once this amount is paid, Nazanin can be released from prison.

Shadi Sadr and Mr. Mostafaei, Nazanin Fatehi's laywers, are appealing this blood money because they believe that Nazanin is innocent for acting in self-defense and therefore she should not have to pay any money. Unfortunately, this appeal may take several months, so in the meantime arrangements may be made to have Nazanin released from prison by paying “bail” money into court.

Formal documentation should be available within days, including further details and specifics like the cost of bail and the cost of blood money.

Folks, I would strongly advise you to take time to visit the helpnazanin website and here you will receive an insight into the life of this amazing young woman who had two heart attacks amongst other dilemmas whilst incacerated. You will also read about the plight of other imprisoned Iranian women. You will be empowered to read about what other Iranian sisters and the world, including Amnesty, are doing for her. No mention of George Bush or any other great world liberators rallying to the cause of course. Let us take a stand and be a VOICE for the SILENCED beautiful brothers and sisters who are stomped upon by the BIGGER POWERS.

    TRUE FRIENDSHIP

    FRIENDSHIP

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you,
And share with you its beauty
On the days you're feeling blue

If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own,
    A place to find serenity,
    A place to be alone

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I'm finding
    Are impossible for me

    I cannot build a mountain,
    Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
    A friend who's always there

    IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES

'the life of the individual has meaning
only insofar as it aids in making
the life of every living thing
    nobler and more beautiful...'
                                                                           albert einstein
    (¯`•¸·´¯) (¯`·¸•´¯)
Moments when my soul (and am sure some of the world's more biased souls) wept  quietly in 2006:
    • the Socceroos looosing to the Diegos (Italians) in that final second-fate beyond belief-in the World Cup Soccer
    • parted with the ten year old family beast of a car that had helped us wheel our way out of hell and to moments of wonderful bliss
    • working a twelve hour day, living on salad/salmon/baked potato/ takeaway/coffee and babysitters
    • patiently watch my lil darlings work through self esteem issues and embrace positions of leadership as class captains/footballers, long distance runners , swimmers or singers/guitarists in the College choir
    • working with a fifteen year old beautiful young guy who had attempted to take his life because of depression
    • enduring a colleague who was so confusing that he could not see the flowers for the weeds in his garden of troubles
    • sitting on the beach and lapping up the stillness of the moment
    • soaking up the love of those who really matter in our lives
    • observing and walking with a friend from work, who had to help her friend cope with the loss of her husband due to suicide (he was only 35)
    • listening to a reporter on the radio on the way to work describe the stench of death waged on a Lebanese village by their Jewish brothers and sisters
    • watch pictures of torture of Iraqis by US in Al Gareb prison
    • read Reuters reports on prisoners on death row in US
    • listen to the TVs update on the plight of our planet eg Where are the pink flamingos of Kenya for that tourist snapshot? Another environmental catastrophe that we are choosing to quickly highlight because it temporarily effects our pursuit of leisure but it is only Africa!!!
    • read and reread emails with pictures of our real world, as undernetah (it has taken me two months to actually come to terms with this one and consequently placing it here has released some of the distraught it has caused me)

This photo is the Pulitzer prize winner taken in 1994 during the Sudan famine. The picture depicts a hunger stricken child crawling to a United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away.
The vulture is waiting for the child to die so it can eat it.This picture shocked the whole world.
Noone knows what happened to the child, including the photographer, Kevin Carter, who left the place once the photograph was taken.
Three months later he committed suicide due to depression.

This was found in his diary

    "Dear God,
I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I pray that He will protect this little boy, guide and deliver him away from his misery. I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests.
I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us that how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted."

Thank you Kevin and obviously you were a person who had an eye for the more nobler and more beautiful elements of our lives. May you rest in peace!

please take time to listen to the video in my space...YOU RAISE ME UP by westlife... after you have read the above...am hoping you feel energised and empowered enough to share this with other folk and that you are not feeling too deflated (as I was initially) from this exposure to one of our many harsh realities...knowledge is indeed empowering and proactive in itself

    RESOLUTIONS and REVOLUTIONS

     RESOLUTIONS AND REVOLUTIONS

    img107/2623/p1000016pk4.jpg

    THE QUIET LIGHT

If I was one thing, I'd be a candle
Lighting the way so you can handle
    Your life easier without woes
Not having to fight with your foes.
I'd help keep you from stumbling over
Things blocking your path to an open door.
If I light your path, life is easier,
Even strong winds, my light will not deter.
No matter what, I'm here for you
To cheer you up when you are blue.
Do not fret when times get tough,
If things look down or kind of rough.
    Just remember, I'm always here,
In your heart, close and near.
I will help you out in every way,
Happiness and love in your heart will stay.
Don't blow me out, that's one request
Unless it's me you do detest.
I do not try to hurt anyone
That isn't good or any fun.
But one day you may leave me behind
You may no longer need my light to shine.
If that day comes, go on your way
And I will hope to see you again one day.
If one day, I don't appear,
Do not worry, do not fear
I may be gone, but in your heart
The light I gave you did not depart.
It will be there forever and a day
To always bring happiness and light your way.
Farewell for now, I'm needed elsewhere
If your path grows dark, in your heart, I'm there.
So I'm really not gone, just not seen,
I would not leave, I'm not that mean.
Only one simple request that I must say,
Please, never forget those who lit your way

Another year that has arrived on an amazing note of all night cocktails (for some) and

entertainig and betwixing chatter at the outdoor Buddha bar. To and froing in

tantilising company; some old acquaintances to catch up with and new entertaining

    faces and voices to treasure.

The Hawaiian cocktail party by the pool at Lyn's place certainly set us all off to another

fabulous world for 2007. A fantastic start to a year that will have to see many changes for moi.

Gone are the cheekies, a la cigarettes. Will have to find another substitute, no Ms Guided

we will not be knitting luv, maybe more meditation!! Compensating for a lifetime of

    abstention or avoidance.

Coming is the Man Meant To Be. Yes, Lyn we will both find not a mental case or mentor

but a catch of a lifetime. And yeah no Second Bests will even get a look in, as is usual.

Might even get my dear Irish mother praying to St Joseph (good husbands) or St Jude

    (hopeless cases) on this one.

Embracing constant contact with family and friends. Never too busy for this one.

Investing in a savings plan. So far so good and no dipping into the figures here.

Exercising la figure has already got off to a flying start. Will not even think about early

morning sprints as that just does not work for an owl of my ilk. Dusk dawdling suits

    me just fine.

Launching into the Masters in Leadership is a happening event. Procrastination in

study will not be tolerated here.

Job review is not to be adapted with a laisser faire attitude. Will spread my wings on

to new career horizons after this is over in May.

Jet setting to some overseas destination will be included, even if it is to Tasmania or

    even Asia.

Trip to Ireland/Europe will happen in 2008.

Letting go, compassion and acceptance will be a gift to me and all who cross my path.

Will have to work on the old strong and honest streak which apparently scares the

    crap out of timid souls.

Must remember to check in on this list of radiant promises every now and awhile.

Will honour the promises made to self as much as I do to others, no matter how

    painful/scarey or delightful.

    Promises...promises!!!
